Simply “To Be”

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Ps. 118:24

Life’s simple pleasures

Truly are the best

Looking out my window

I spotted a robin red-breast

He seemed so contented

Perched there on the limb

I couldn’t help

But learn a lesson from him

He didn’t appear hurried

Or worried like you and me

But his only purpose it seemed

Was simply “to be”

Our Father has given us life

And a fresh new day

I think our greatest purpose

Is just to ‘stay’

Close by His side

And let go of our care

Loving and enjoying Him

For He’s always there

No matter the day

Whether rainy, sunny or mild

Our hearts should REJOICE

Simply “to be” His child!
