HOPE Highlights: Pathways to safety, happiness, and productivity

Every young adult has a future. We want each young person who comes to HOPE 4 Youth to believe — at their core — that their future can be safer, happier, and more productive. Here are a few examples from this spring of how we’re helping youth on the pathway to their future:

• After staying in her car and other shelters due to domestic violence, Brittany came to us for help finding stable housing and mental health resources. After six months of working with a case manager, she’s recently secured permanent housing and we were able to provide her financial assistance to help with some move-in expenses.
• Brandon had been struggling with chemical dependency for the past couple of years. This year, he started working with a HOPE 4 Youth case manager on his mental health and achieving his goals of sobriety, stable housing, and employment. He recently called from treatment to thank our case manager for believing in him and to share that he’s celebrating 16 days of sobriety. He’s also secured a job and is now able to see his daughter again.
• Maliah came to the Drop-In Center in search of support after couch-hopping for several months. This senior in high school is working hard to get on her feet. She recently secured a job and asked for help in figuring out transportation to get to and from work. We were able to give her a bike thanks to a donation from a community partner. Her next goal is to secure stable housing and we’re walking alongside her throughout the process.
